A project with "excesses and waste", which is concentrated in Tías, "when the most populated nucleus is in Puerto del Carmen" and "that does not solve the sports needs of the municipality". That is the opinion that Coalición Canaria deserves for the Tías Sports Center that the mayor of the municipality, José Juan Cruz, presented this Tuesday together with the architects. For this reason, the nationalists from Tías accuse the PSOE of "electoral fraud" since they have not fulfilled their promise to build a swimming pool in this legislature.
And it is that the Sports Center will not be finished until 2009, so CC has branded the socialists as "shameless". "Instead of apologizing, they come out proudly to ask citizens to imagine facilities that they will not enjoy for a few years", says the candidate for mayor for Coalición Canaria, Pedro Calero, who believes that "this is an important sign of the exhaustion and suffocation of the PSOE, which has governed Tías for 24 years".
Faced with this project, Pedro Calero proposes "totally different solutions" to those of the PSOE, because the leader of CC believes that the project still does not solve the sports needs of the entire municipality, where doing sports is almost impossible if you are not federated". Pedro Calero is in favor of balancing the distribution of facilities throughout the different nuclei of the municipality, since "the concentration of facilities is a valid solution for compact cities such as Arrecife, but not for the reality of Tías".
