Canarian Coalition has sent a statement denouncing that "the Avenue of Puerto del Carmen remains inaccessible to cars and an authentic adventure for pedestrians, and that is what they told us, the government group of the Pilsoe, that it would be open for this Christmas period"
According to Pedro Calero "we greatly fear that the lack of planning and the absence of a Master Plan, promised on several occasions by the group of misgovernment, will lead us to a chaotic situation and ruin of the main economic activity".
For the spokesman of the Canarian Coalition in the municipality of Tías, "this situation comes at the worst possible time, to aggravate the crisis. Companies are in a critical situation, with a significant drop in sales, with direct repercussions on employment and the survival of many businesses".
"The businesses in the area had placed many of their hopes for these dates, in which the tourist influx was going to be greater. They do not understand the complete closure for several months of large sections of the Avenue, when we all know that in other places the situation is resolved in a short time and in a much more agile way", insists Calero.
The nationalist spokesman understands the need to undertake the works after decades of neglect, "but an adequate programming of the works should have been carried out, reinforcing with more personnel and even using several shifts to carry out these works. In other places we observe the planning by shorter sections of works but here they opt for absolutely harmful measures for the interests of those who live from tourism", said Pedro Calero.
