The Island Political Council of Coalición Canaria Lanzarote unanimously approved this Thursday, at the proposal of the island Executive, the calendar that marks the process of electing candidates to the different administrations in their different organic areas, in view of the local, regional and European elections of May 2023.
"It is a process that begins one year before the election date, in order to preserve transparency and the proper development of the different phases and in compliance with the statutes and regulations of the formation”, says the island secretary, Migdalia Machín.
In this way, from Coalición Canaria they point out that the proposal of a municipal candidacy to be submitted to the Island Political Council for approval is established as the competence of each Local Assembly, a proposal that must be subsequently ratified by the National Political Council. The party clarifies that the exclusive competence to approve the electoral lists for city councils corresponds to the Island Political Councils, while ratification is the responsibility of the National Political Council.
Machín also recalls that according to the aforementioned statutes, "any affiliated person or militant can opt for the different candidacies, as long as they meet the statutory, affiliation and economic requirements".
“We are starting this process with great enthusiasm and with the desire to continue working for our island as we have been doing in these three years of mandate, and with the conviction that we are going to govern in all the institutions, because Lanzarote and La Graciosa deserve nationalist representatives who truly defend them”, says the Secretary of Organization of Coalición Canaria, Echedey Eugenio.
