The directives of Coalición Canaria (CC) and the Partido Socialista (PSC) in Fuerteventura have signed this Wednesday a government pact in the Cabildo and the City Council of Pájara, which will give the presidency of the island institution to the nationalist Mario Cabrera, and the Mayor's Office of the local corporation to the socialist Rafael Perdomo. However, both formations leave La Oliva in the air, where they would need the support of Nueva Fuerteventura (NF) to achieve the necessary majority to govern.

For the Cabildo, socialists and nationalists set their main axes, to be developed over the next four years, in the social and economic promotion of the Island, as well as in the reduction of the unemployment rate, through the rehabilitation of the tourist accommodation plant and the promotion of alternative energies. All these proposals will be carried out with "the important support of Pájara", according to the Secretary of Organization of the PSC on the Island, Juan Jiménez.

The island president of CC, José Miguel Barragán, said that this agreement "is what Fuerteventura of the 21st century needs" and that it has been signed "with total independence and because we want to, not because someone has ordered us from outside".

Cabrera announced that there will be a decrease in Councils in the island Administration, in which the nationalists will share Social Welfare, Health, Youth, Citizen Participation and Housing, Economic Development, Finance, Heritage and Internal Regime, Presidency Environment and Transport, Security, Emergencies, Works and Machinery, Museum Network, Employment and Commerce, Infrastructure and Sports.

The socialist Blas Acosta will occupy the vice-presidency and will be in charge of the Tourism Board, Ornella Chacón of Territorial Planning, Rita Díaz of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries and Juan Jiménez of Culture, Historical Heritage, Education and Personnel.
