The Governing Council of the Canary Islands has approved this Thursday some changes in the restrictions against Covid-19, although all related to alert level 3, in which only Tenerife and Gran Canaria are currently located.
On the one hand, it has been decided to delay the 'curfew', which at level 3 was set at 10 p.m. and from now on will begin at 11 p.m., that is, the same as at level 2. This will mean extending the hours of the hotel and restaurant industry, which had been demanding this change.
During his appearance before the media, the Government spokesman, Julio Pérez, justified this decision by pointing out that there is now “better information” and “a better connection with the interested sectors”, and also that “the knowledge of the rules is becoming more widespread and better applied”.
The other big change involves the restriction of entries and exits from the island, which has been applied in both level 3 and level 4. From now on, just as it was done during Easter Week for any inter-island travel, people who want to enter or leave an island that is at level 3, can do so if they present a PCR or a negative antigen test.
Until now, these movements were only allowed for trips with justified causes, such as work or health reasons, and also for tourists from the Peninsula or abroad who were planning to stay in a regulated establishment, but not for Canarians.
The other modification refers to the use of indoor swimming pools, which was also restricted at level 3. From now on, access will be allowed for therapeutic purposes, complying with the capacity limitation.
