The Local Government Board of the San Bartolomé City Council approved this Wednesday the awarding of the contract for the execution of the project "Underground parking, building for collective uses and Santa Elena square", in Playa Honda. The award has gone to the Temporary Union of Companies (UTE) formed by Lanzagrava, S.L. and Obras Públicas Canarias, S.L., through an open procedure and ordinary processing.
This is a key action for the municipality, both for its impact on improving mobility and for the urban and social value it will bring to Playa Honda. The total investment amounts to €5,798,968.99, plus €405,927.83 corresponding to 7% of the IGIC, financed entirely with municipal funds, which makes this project the largest public investment in the history of San Bartolomé made with its own resources.
The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, highlighted that "it is an ambitious, long-awaited project that reflects our commitment to sustainable urban development and to responding to neighborhood demands. It represents a decisive step to improve the quality of life in Playa Honda, where the lack of parking spaces has historically been one of the main concerns."
In addition to the underground parking, the project includes the integral remodeling of Santa Elena square and the future construction of a building for collective uses that will house a library and training rooms, reinforcing the vocation of this space as a meeting point for neighbors, educational and cultural.
For her part, the Councilor for Urban Planning, Marlene Romero, stressed that "we continue to bet on a more accessible, friendlier and more people-oriented Playa Honda. This award marks a new milestone towards an urban transformation that puts the daily needs of citizens at the center."
The City Council recalls that this step gives continuity to the process initiated with the approval of the bidding file last January, and that, once awarded, progress is already being made towards the start of the works, after the formalization of the contract.
With this action, the Government group reaffirms its objective of growing San Bartolomé in an orderly, sustainable manner and focused on neighborhood well-being, generating modern, functional public spaces adapted to the challenges of the present.
