A four-year-old girl has died this Saturday after being taken out of a swimming pool with signs of drowning, according to the CECOES. The incident took place around 1:30 p.m. in a hotel complex in Playa Blanca.
After the Emergency and Security Coordination Center was alerted, Local Police officers, the Civil Guard, two ambulances, one medicalized and another basic life support, a medicalized helicopter, and the Lanzarote Island Emergency Consortium were dispatched.
A coordinating nurse from the SUC, present in the operations room, confirmed in his questioning of the lifeguard that the affected person was in cardiorespiratory arrest and gave instructions, via teleassistance, to begin performing resuscitation maneuvers.
SUC personnel, dispatched to the scene in two ambulances and a medicalized helicopter, continued performing advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers without success, confirming the death of the minor.
Local Police, along with firefighters, secured a nearby area for the medicalized helicopter to land and take off.
For their part, the Civil Guard has carried out the corresponding proceedings.
