About fifty authorities from France, Bulgaria, Portugal and Spain will attend this weekend in Puerto Calero the annual assembly of the Spanish Association of Fishing Cities, as well as the celebration of a FECIPE (European Federation of Fishing Cities) conference.

Among the various items on the agenda, the presentation of the study of the salt flats and wetlands of the fishing cities, as well as the project of the maritime culture routes of Spain, stands out. On Saturday, the FECIPE conference will be held, in which aspects on the future of fishing cities, the community funds destined to them or the maritime fishing heritage will be addressed.

The fundamental objectives pursued by AECIPE are, on the one hand, to promote and collaborate in actions that allow the economic diversification of the associated coastal territories, and, on the other hand, to promote and facilitate the labor insertion of the population affected by the reconversion of the fishing sector.

On the other hand, FECIPE has among its purposes to contribute to the promotion and increase of fishing development and fishing production, and the culture, the scientific, human and promotional riches of fishing as a complement to the tourism of the future, in relation to the uses of fishing.
