The Arrecife City Council has begun to renovate the street signs of the city. The Mobility area, directed by Ángela Hernández, will also install new signs on roads that lacked this element. In total, there will be 1,995 indicative signs that will be distributed around the capital of Lanzarote. The expense related to these works amounts to 141,123.42 euros, as reported by the council in a note.

Argana Alta was the first neighborhood to enjoy this renovation that will reach all of Arrecife. "Improving the identification of the streets of the municipality has been a priority since we began to govern, since many signs were very deteriorated and Arrecife must show a clear image of the name of its roads for residents and visitors," the mayor pointed out.

For her part, Councilor Ángela Hernández pointed out that "it is the first time that a complete renovation of the signs has been done. We have seen that need since there were several different models and many quite deteriorated."

The new plates measure 30 centimeters high by 50 centimeters wide and two millimeters thick and are made of aluminum with a vinyl background and the shield in engraved and painted methacrylate. For these new badges, the same location will be used, unless, due to some incident or unforeseen event, vertical signage has to be carried out and requires the installation of posts, for which the acquisition of 50 of these has been planned.
