The Canary Academy of the Language (ACL) has four new collaborating members, including two from Lanzarote. They are Ignacio Romero Perera and Zebensuí Rodríguez Álvarez, who will be part of this institution along with Ramón Correa Magdalena and José Gavilán López.

This was announced by the Canary Academy of the Language itself on its website, where it announced that this coming Friday, June 19, at 6:00 PM, the reception ceremony for the new members will take place in the auditorium of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Communication of the University of La Laguna.

The institution highlights that the four new collaborators stand out for their respective careers linked to the study, research, teaching, and dissemination of the linguistic and cultural heritage of the Canary Islands.

Ignacio Romero is a biologist, writer, and cultural disseminator, and has dedicated a large part of his professional activity to the dissemination of the natural, historical, and cultural heritage of the archipelago. Furthermore, he has been director and presenter of various audiovisual programs, promoter of environmental and cultural education initiatives, and author of several books about Lanzarote.

On the other hand, he also combines his dissemination work with significant participation in social and cultural projects aimed at strengthening the knowledge and appreciation of the island's heritage.

Regarding Zebensuí Rodríguez, he holds a degree in Hispanic Philology from the University of La Laguna and is a secondary school teacher in the specialty of Castilian Language and Literature.

He has developed an extensive teaching and research career focused on the Spanish of the Canary Islands and the literary heritage of Lanzarote. Likewise, he is the author of several academic publications and editor of works by prominent island writers. He has also promoted exhibition projects and dissemination activities dedicated to Canarian literature.

The institution emphasizes that with these incorporations, the Canary Academy of the Language "reinforces its network of collaborators, made up of specialists and professionals committed to the study, conservation, and dissemination of the language and culture of the Canary Islands".
