Arrecife will close the cemetery and the Local Police headquarters this Tuesday for a new fumigation.

The Arrecife City Council informs that the Municipal Cemetery will close its doors this Tuesday, August 27, after 2:00 p.m., to undergo a new fumigation treatment that will last until Wednesday morning. With this action, there are already three disinfestation treatments that have been carried out in San Román in the last two months, under the mandate of the new Government group.

The Councilor for Health of the capital's City Council, Saro González Perdomo, has highlighted that a new fumigation is necessary to combat the cockroach plague detected, and that since it had not been fumigated in the last 7 years, but now, it requires reinforcing the disinfestation work in the San Román Cemetery.

The City Council recalls that, after the inauguration of the new government group, the new mayor of Arrecife, Ástrid Pérez, and the Councilor for Health, Saro González, managed this summer to approve the hiring of a company specialized in fumigation to eradicate the cockroach plague detected some time ago in the San Román cemetery. The Arrecife City Council has transferred to the entire network of municipal public buildings the preventive treatments to disinfect the buildings that serve citizens, and where municipal workers carry out their work, which will be carried out in phases.

The programming of these mandatory health and hygiene works will not affect the activity of burials. However, the Councilor for Health of Arrecife, Saro González, requests families for their collaboration while these new preventive works are carried out.
