The mayor of Arrecife, Astrid Pérez, presented this Monday the project 'Arrecife Paving Plan Phase II', in the bidding phase and budgeted at 3,734,353.62 euros. This project will involve the resurfacing and improvement of pedestrian accessibility, with the consequent elimination of architectural barriers. A total of 83 streets in the municipality will be paved, 17 located in Argana Baja, 24 in San Francisco Javier, 26 in Altavista Norte and the remaining 16 in the city center.
“I promised to pave the city and I have kept my promise to the citizens. We have already started Phase I, which is in execution, and we are very advanced with Phase II. In addition, I have ordered the processing of the projects for Phases III, IV, V so that from now until 2026 we have each of the streets of Arrecife in perfect condition, which will contribute to making this city more friendly and habitable,” said Astrid Pérez.
The works of Phase II, which have an execution period of 5 months, consist mainly of the rehabilitation of surfaces and superficial pavements, whose object is aimed at preserving or improving the functional characteristics (safety, comfort, etc.) and the protection of the whole of the surface (increase of durability, impermeability, uniformity, appearance, etc.).
Likewise, the Arrecife Paving Plan will include the adaptation to the current regulations of the pedestrian sections of the roads in terms of accessibility, elimination of physical and communication barriers.
II Phase of the Paving Plan
With regard to Argana Baja, the streets included in the second Phase of the Paving Plan are Manuel Cáceres, Isaac Viera, Safantia, Ico, Tomás Morales, Berruguete, Afe, Alfonso XII, Manguia, Mararía, Liria, Alfonso X El Sabio, Luisa Linares, Francisca Cabrera Sastre, Jesús Soto Morales, Martínez Montañez, Rivera.
In San Francisco Javier, the streets Pizarro, Don Rodrigo, Carlos V, Enrique IV, Cardenal Cisneros, Jaime I, Isabel la Católica, Juana de Arco, Cid Campeador, Agustín Espinosa, Islote del Quebrado, José Hernández Almeida (partial on land), Sorondongo, Hernán Cortés (partially on land), Islote del Quemado, Juan II, Islote de Fermina, Gregorio Medina Armas (Provisional Ensign), Viriato, Alfonso XIII, Antonio Bermúdez, Felipe II, Fernando El Católico and Timple.
In Altavista Norte the streets la Pardela, Tegala, Tegasco, Tindaya, El Rafael, Pamplona, El Vicente, Navarra, Tilama, Málaga, Almería, Tinache, Honduras, Arniches, Tinamala, El Faustino, Coronel Capaz, José Pereyra Galviaty, Tenique, Tebete, La Fermina, La Joaquina, Avda Temisas, Chafaris, Filipinas and Blasco Ibañez.
And in the center of Arrecife the streets Yagabo, Tofio, Fuencaliente, Tagoror, Roque Bentayga, Aniagua, Caldera Bandama, Manolo Millares, Garajonay, Caldera de Taburiente, Tamaragua, Guenia, Elguinaguaria, Fenauso, Peñas del Chache and Usaje.
