The Arrecife City Council has announced the awarding, to the company Clece S.A, of the service of maintenance, conservation and repair of the 13 public schools in the municipality. It has a budget of 1.3 million euros, without taxes, divided into three lots depending on the number of educational centers, which have all been awarded to the same company.

The object of the contract, as detailed by the Consistory, is "the integral maintenance of the 13 buildings through the realization of all actions to care for and protect the state of the property, such as painting, electricity, plumbing, etc.", which allow to conserve "its optimal physical appearance after the passage of time, providing the same functional benefits of its origin".

"In our political project we have put the improvement of public spaces first, and schools are a fundamental piece for the modernization of Arrecife. It is great news for the city and a satisfaction for the Government group that I preside over," said the mayor Astrid Pérez.

In lot 1, which is budgeted at 500,000 euros, are the following public schools: Titerroy, Titerroy Infantil, Benito Méndez Tarajano, Adult Center and the Children's School. In lot 2, with a budget of 400,000 euros are the CEIP Capellanía de Yágabo, La Destila, Antonio Zerolo and Nieves Toledo. While the third, with the same amount as the previous lot, includes Los Geranios, Argana Alta, Ceo de Argana and Adolfo Tophan.

"We thus culminate a new project to maintain and repair the schools of Arrecife, which are much needed due to the age of some of the buildings. To that we have to add other works that the City Council is doing at the same time for the change of windows, access to schools and improvement in all school facilities," said the Councilor for Education, Saro González.

According to the City Council, the successful bidder must present a study of each educational center "on the current situation of accessibility and mobility of interior and exterior spaces", which includes proposals for improvement of these spaces. At the same time, they add that "it must replace a total of 150 luminaires with others of greater energy efficiency", and also "60 units of faucets with others that control water saving or that can be operated with a pedal".

The initial duration of the contract will be one year from the formalization of the same, "with the possibility of extending it for periods of one year", taking into account that the total duration of the contract, including extensions, "may not exceed 4 years". The announcement of the award by the City Council of Arrecife was published this Tuesday, December 14 in the Public Sector Contracting Platform.
