The EMEC Festival returns to Lanzarote consolidated as one of the essential events on the cultural calendar of the Canary Islands. On May 16, the emblematic Castillo de San José in Arrecife will once again host this event that fuses electronic music, art, and sustainability in a unique experience. With a lineup that includes artists such as AJ Christou, Dany Gómez, Harvy Valencia, Neverdogs, or Solardo, the festival promises a vibrant day dedicated to the most current sounds of the electronic scene.
Since its inception, EMEC —an acronym for Ecology, Music, Electronics, and Culture— has committed to an innovative concept that goes beyond the traditional festival format. Its proposal integrates avant-garde music with a curated cultural offering that includes local art, zero-kilometer gastronomy, and a firm environmental awareness, becoming a transversal event that connects with different audiences.
The festival's trajectory supports its growth. Since its first edition, held in 2023, EMEC surprised with its ability to attract attendees and for offering a different experience on the island, combining sessions by international DJs with local talent in a unique setting. That event was described by the public as "something new and different in Lanzarote," laying the groundwork for a project that has not stopped evolving.
The lineup for this edition of the EMEC Festival stands out for its balance between established names from the international scene and proposals with great projection. Figures such as Solardo or Neverdogs bring a solid track record in the main clubs and festivals around the world, with a sound that moves between house and the most forceful tech house. Alongside them, artists such as AJ Christou or Harvy Valencia represent the freshness of a new generation that is setting trends on European dance floors, guaranteeing dynamic sets connected with the audience.
The line up is completed with names that reinforce the diverse identity of the festival, such as Dany Gómez, Solardo, Arxip, Iva Dive or Ariel Noure, who bring different nuances within the electronic spectrum. This combination of styles and origins turns EMEC into a top-tier sonic showcase, where danceable rhythms, more underground proposals, and a careful artistic selection coexist, reinforcing the festival's personality and its ability to attract diverse audiences.
Throughout its different editions, the festival has featured prominent figures of international electronic music such as Melanie Ribbe, wAFF, Andrea Oliva, or Hector Couto, consolidating a high-level lineup that places Lanzarote on the global circuit of the genre. Likewise, the event has maintained its commitment to local talent, giving visibility to Canarian artists and generating a meeting space between different generations and styles within electronic music.
One of EMEC's differentiating elements is its commitment to sustainability and the environment. The festival integrates responsible practices such as the use of reusable materials, the promotion of local products, and environmental awareness, aligning with Lanzarote's identity as a destination committed to landscape and culture.
Thanks to this combination of music, culture, and values, Lanzarote has consolidated itself, with EMEC's help, on the map of major electronic music events in the Canary Islands. The festival not only reinforces the island's cultural offerings but has also become an important tourist attraction, drawing visitors from other islands and contributing to the local economy's dynamism through an event that combines leisure, culture, and external projection.
With the GreenWorld seal of quality and an increasingly defined identity, EMEC Festival, sponsored by Centros de arte Cultura y Turismo de Lanzarote, Cabildo de Lanzarote, Ayuntamiento de Arrecife, Turismo Lanzarote, Promotur and Gobierno de Canarias, faces its new edition with the aim of continuing to grow and positioning itself as a benchmark within the electronic scene, offering an immersive experience where music and environment go hand in hand.
