The average price of diesel in February in Lanzarote was 1.193 euros per liter, while in March it soared to 1.613 euros, which is equivalent to an increase of 35.2%.
The increase has been so high that after having the cheapest diesel in the Canary Islands in February, Lanzarote faced in March prices higher than all the islands, except El Hierro and La Gomera.
The second island where the price of diesel increased the most was Tenerife, it did so by 31.9% going from costing 1.220 euros per liter in February to being worth 1.610 euros in March.
The third largest increase was experienced in Fuerteventura, where the price of diesel grew by 30.1%. If in February it was at 1.199 euros, in March it reached an average of 1.561 euros.
In Gran Canaria, the rise in diesel prices has been 28.1% between February (1.251 euros) and March (1.603) euros.
Next, La Gomera, where the price of diesel fuel has increased by 22.7% from the average price in February (1.463) to that of March (1.796 euros).
In El Hierro, the average increase has been 18.3% since the liter was 1.459 euros in February and reached 1.726 euros per liter in March.
The island where prices increased the least is La Palma, although it was a significant 14.9%. If in February the average price was 1,400 euros, in March it rose to 1,609.
