The San Bartolomé City Council held a meeting this Wednesday with AENA technicians to define the infrastructures where the installation of sound level meters will be carried out, which will allow knowing the reality of the homes affected by airport noise. To this end, together with those responsible for the company that will carry out the action, they visited municipal facilities in Playa Honda where the Noise Monitoring System will be placed.
The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, explains that with the installation of these sound level meters, real measurements will be made of the affected areas to expand the number of homes that are already recognized. “These measurements will be carried out over a period of one year, where the reality of the affected houses will be assessed,” says Pérez.
For his part, the Councilor for Finance, Antonio Rocío, recalls that currently the number of affected homes recognized is 1,065, although he insists that the City Council considers that this figure "is far from reality.”

"The objective of the visit was to agree on site the locations of the sound level meters so that they collect the samples in the most efficient way possible. In this sense, it has been concluded that these systems will be installed in the public infrastructures of Playa Honda", explain from the City Council.
With the implementation of this process, the commitment is to implement a noise monitoring system, "a tool that provides complete and reliable information on the trajectories followed by aircraft, while taking acoustic measurements through the Noise Monitoring Terminals (TMR) distributed throughout the airport environment."
