One of these conditions is that land that does not come from the same place cannot be transferred to the area, unless its origin is indicated. In this case, María Emilia Morales asks the mayor José Juan Cruz (PSOE) for explanations about the possible use of topsoil that is not extracted from the area in which the plan is to be drawn up. She also asks that the origin of these lands destined for garden areas be specified. On this subject, she once again stressed the "disregard" that she believes is suffered by the residents who have been expropriated, receiving minimal compensation.
In addition, the councilor has referred in a press conference to the current economic situation of the Consistory, which according to her maintains a debt of one million euros with suppliers, which is why she denounces that the municipal budgets of 2006 have not yet been approved. María Emilia Morales attributes this delay to the fact that the ruling party in Tías is preparing a pre-election campaign.
Environmental police
On the other hand, the councilor of Alternativa Ciudadana has also referred to the precarious state of the rainwater and sewage network of the municipality, which in recent months has caused several spills on the Playa Grande of Puerto del Carmen. And to solve this issue, María Emilia Morales has requested the creation of an environmental police force to try to detect all these problems for their subsequent correction.
