To mark the fourth anniversary of the death of footballer Maykel Padrón, a group of friends, veteran footballers, took a walk in his memory. Maykel's father and his brother, Nini and Chedey, also joined the tribute.
The route started at 08.00 on Sunday morning from the Farmer's Monument and ended at the hermitage of the Virgen de Los Dolores in Mancha Blanca.
In the Sanctuary they observed a minute's silence and said a prayer in memory of Maykel and then laid a bouquet of flowers next to the image of Our Lady the Virgen de Los Dolores, a very emotional act in memory of the dear friend.
Maykel Padrón Arbelo started in the world of football with his father at U.D. Valterra, also forming part of the squad of the teams, U.D. Lanzarote, C.D. Tenerife, Levante U.D. Orientación Marítima, ending his sports career at U.D. Lanzarote. He died on October 8 at the age of 34 after battling a serious illness.
