This Friday, the day of La Candelaria, the Virgin of the Candles, was celebrated, which according to Christian history, on a day like February 2, the Day of Lights was celebrated, forty days after the birth of Jesus. The "La Candelaria" Festival is celebrated every February 2, coinciding with the celebration of the presentation of the Lord and the ritual purification of the Virgin Mary. Since the mid-5th century, this celebration was known as the "Festival of Lights". In the municipality of Tías, the celebration of the annual festivities begins.
The island of Lanzarote, like the Canary Islands as a whole, has been living in these weeks under the consequences of a storm. The municipal band of Tías, Acuarti, and the Gaida Folk Group performed before the image of La Candelaria and San Blas.

Feast of San Blas
