The Municipal Theater of Tías will host the play "Underground Seagulls" by Alfonso Vallejo next Sunday, June 11, at 8:30 p.m. in favor of the Red Cross in Lanzarote. This solidarity event, organized by this humanitarian movement together with Comik Teatro, and with the collaboration of the Municipal Council, aims to collect non-perishable food for the most needy population on the island.
The play "Underground Seagulls" is performed by actors Germán Barrios and Alby Robayna (Comik theater) and has been awarded several prizes, including the Golden Willow, the Public's Willow and the "Tana López Peñalver" award.
The President of the Red Cross in Lanzarote, Alicia Martín Borreguero, has encouraged everyone to collaborate, as far as possible, "because the Red Cross volunteers have always been there, helping those who need it, and, with actions like this, we can do much more, we can reach more families... and Lanzarote has always been an island that gets involved, a very supportive island." "Thank you very much because we are convinced of the generous solidarity response that we are going to receive from the citizens," she added.
How to participate in the solidarity initiative
Those who wish to attend and enjoy the play can do so through the solidarity contribution of non-perishable food or by purchasing a ticket for the Spanish Red Cross Gold Draw. In the latter case, for a price of five euros, they can also be rewarded in the draw that will be held on July 20 in Santander. The total amount collected from the sale of tickets as well as the donation of food will be used for social assistance to families in Lanzarote, according to the Red Cross.
Those who want to obtain the Gold Draw number in advance can do so at the following points of sale: Arrecife: Red Cross headquarters in Lanzarote, Hotel Miramar, Sociedad Democracia; Playa Honda: Management of the C.C. Deiland; Tías: Mariola fashion and accessories store, Onma hairdresser; or also, one hour before the event at the box office of the Tías Municipal Theater.
