The Arrecife City Council has started the shoring work on the wooden walkway of the Puente de las Bolas, which has been carried out throughout this Friday. According to those responsible for Roads and Works, the placement of the scaffolding will be completed during this same day, so the passage to pedestrians and boats will be opened normally on Saturday.
After this intervention, the monument of Cultural Interest (BIC) awaits a comprehensive and specialized action to rehabilitate the wooden pieces and the stone structure of the bridge, as announced by the capital's City Council.
At the end of October, the PP denounced the "lamentable state" of the Bridge, one of the most precious symbols of the city's cultural and historical heritage. In this sense, he recalled that he had been waiting for a rehabilitation for "years".
