Los Gofiones put the musical icing on the cake for the VI Anniversary of the Casa-Museo del Timple. The museum's commissioner, Benito Cabrera, was in charge of opening the event, and was "very grateful for the support and enthusiasm he has always received from the Teguise city council and the thousands of visitors who have passed through it during these six years." He pointed out "that there are more and more requests from musicians and singers who want to perform in the concerts programmed during the year at the Casa-Museo."
Later, the mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, took the floor, who also "highly valued the work carried out by all those who have bet and continue to be excited about the function that is carried out from the Department of Culture led by Olivia Duque and the commissioner Benito Cabrera." Before leaving the stage, the mayor presented the musical director of Los Gofiones, Victor Batista, with the poster announcing the concert.
Immediately afterwards, the first musical notes began to sound. A wide repertoire of traditional folklore songs from the islands such as, seguidillas, isas, folías, sorondongo and malagueña. Also very present were those from the other side of the Atlantic, a whole range in which boleros, tangos and joropos were intertwined. Victor Batista, with more than 20 years directing the group, knew how to maintain at all times, getting the 40 members to give their best. With very well-coordinated voices that, together with the tuned strings of the instruments, easily managed to excite the numerous public that completely filled the entire capacity of the convent and that did not stop applauding them in each of their songs.
Los Gofiones invited the young member of the Los Campesinos folklore group, Izán Ortega, to participate in a seguidilla from Lanzarote, doing the same with Benito Cabrera, who accompanied them with the timple in the Isa de Salón y Cumbre. The night came to an end with a very dedicated audience who stood up and sang and danced to the rhythm of the popular and festive composition Somos Costeros.
