Last Saturday, the Tibetan Monks performed at the Teatro de San Bartolomé, delighting the audience with the show "The Path for Peace", in which they transmitted the music, songs, and dances of Tibet.
The event, organized by Robten Ghe Pel Ung and the Centro Studi Tibetani of Milan, was attended by about 200 people to enjoy the performance that brought samples of this ancient culture to Lanzarote, beginning with a "Ritual" blessing the instruments, followed by a "Purification Ceremony" of the Theater, and closing the event with a "Blessing" to those present.
1,200 euros raised
Attendees were able to visit the stand where handicrafts, incense, creams, t-shirts, and stones, bowls made by the fugitive monks refugees in India, were sold to raise funds for the expansion of the Serajhe monastery in India. The 12 monks who star in the show live there, and it has raised a total of 1,200 euros in San Bartolomé, between the donations made by the spectators, the tickets, and the craft stall, which will serve for the subsistence of the monks, and the maintenance of their cultural life.
