The Villa de Teguise hosted this weekend the second edition of the Teguise Music Showcase, which brought together the new music bands of the island of Lanzarote around three stages in the historic center of La Villa.

The plazas of the Constitution, San Francisco and La Mareta received eleven conejeras bands on Saturday. The groups performed for eleven hours uninterrupted for the general public, but also for a very special audience, made up of ten professionals from the world of the music industry in the Canary Islands. These professionals were able to learn how the groups sound in each of their musical styles: regaee, ska, metal, rock, pop, funky... In addition, they decided to show their support to one of the participating bands, Opereta Humanoide, which will soon record a professional demo at Estudios Neptar, financed by the Teguise City Council.

Teguise thus became the cultural center of the island this weekend, with music "made in Lanzarote". The bands Azarug, Mellany Morales, Lanzarote Notebook, Emisora Clandestina, Bongoyeyo, Jablexperiencie, The Kraters, Opereta Humanoide, Impresentables, Galiot and Sentimiento con Arte took the stage. All of them will have the free distribution of a single, courtesy of Emubands_ES, a company that allows independent record labels and bands without a label to sell their music through iTunes, Spotify or Google Play, earning one hundred percent of the royalties and always maintaining the rights to their music. To do this, the participating bands will only have to follow the company on social networks and contact their managers.

In addition, the Teguise Music Showcase incorporated a novelty this year, the outdoor photographic exhibition of a selection of images taken of the participating groups by the 2nd year Photography students of the Pancho Lasso School.

The head of the Culture area of the Teguise City Council, Olivia Duque, and the promoter of the Festival, Óscar Pérez, have thanked the presence of all those who filled the Villa de Teguise during the concerts and have already confirmed that there will be a third edition in 2016, "to show and defend the music that is made in the islands again".
