The students of CEIP Titerroy were the winners of the neighborhood Christmas card contest, a competition whose decision was announced on Friday night and in which students from the Benito Méndez Tarajano school also participated.
The jury was composed of Alfredo Díaz representing the Cesar Manrique Foundation, Juan José Torres, representing the Arrecife City Council, Concepción Mª Martín Espinosa, representing the Titerroygatra Adult Education Center, a representation from Emerlan, and neighbor José García Hernández.
According to the Titerroy Neighborhood Association, the objective of this contest is to raise awareness among children about the positive values transmitted by these endearing holidays such as solidarity, optimism, and help, and to encourage the active participation of the children of the neighborhood, making it possible for them to know the public spaces and resources that are offered to them. In addition, it is highlighted that through this contest it is also possible to consolidate collaborative actions between schools and the neighborhood collective.

Both schools received gifts from the Department of Education of the Arrecife City Council, the Cesar Manrique Foundation, and the Titerroygatra Adult Education Center. The neighborhood collective appreciates the great collaboration of the Benito Méndez Tarajano and Titerroy schools.
Facade decoration contest
For next Friday the 20th, the jury's decision on the decoration of neighbors' house facades with Christmas motifs is scheduled. Until Thursday, December 19, all homes (facades, gardens, windows, and balconies) of neighbors in the neighborhood who wish to participate may participate in this contest.
The motif and theme of the decoration of the balcony, window, or facade will be solely and exclusively Christmas, including nativity scenes that can be seen from the outside. Interested neighbors can register at the headquarters of the neighborhood collective, located at Calle Alcalde Lorenzo Cabrera, number 23.
The Titerroy Neighborhood Association takes the opportunity to congratulate IES Las Salinas de Arrecife, after being recognized by Unicef as a Reference Center for Education in Children's Rights and Global Citizenship, "for its commitment to incorporating this vision into its educational project".
