The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has predicted the presence of a DANA (isolated depression at high levels) that will affect the west of the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands. Although the Canary Islands are outside this forecast, the rains will also reach Lanzarote this weekend.
"It is not going to affect us directly, but it will cause a drop in temperatures and the arrival of rain. In this case, the rainfall will be less likely in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, where it will be weaker and will affect the north face and La Graciosa," explained the delegate of Aemet in the Canary Islands, David Suárez.
Aemet predicts that for this Saturday and Sunday the clouds will be the protagonists on the island. The cloudy skies will arrive at noon this Saturday and will become increasingly overcast as the day progresses. From 6:00 p.m. in the afternoon until midnight, the presence of clouds will be greater in all municipalities. According to this forecast, in the early hours of Sunday cloudy intervals with little rain will be recorded in six municipalities, with the exception of Arrecife.
The consequences of this decrease in temperatures will be more noticeable from this Sunday. Between 12:00 and 6:00 p.m., light rains are expected to continue in the south of the island. In this case, the cloudy skies would affect the entire island, but the rain would only arrive in a scarce way to Yaiza, San Bartolomé and Tías.
Meanwhile, looking ahead to the beginning of next week, skies are expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy with the presence of rain during Monday morning in the northern area of Lanzarote.
