The Canarian company Helenaturboteatro will present and perform its show "¡Luz, más luz!" on Thursday, November 12, at 8:00 p.m., at the Teatro de San Bartolomé, with the sponsorship of the Canarian Institute of Women and the Cabildo de Lanzarote.
The plot of the play "¡Luz, más luz!" revolves around the Canarian writer Mercedes Pinto, who spent most of her life exiled in different countries of Latin America. The piece takes up and dramatizes a part of her journalistic production collected in "Ventanas de colores", by Alicia Llarena, which compiles the most varied and essential creative aspects of Mercedes Pinto, and in whose lines the threads of life and work are intertwined.
Two actresses and a pianist
The director Helena Romero has staged a piece performed by women: two actresses and a pianist. The actresses Guacimara Gil and Carmen Hernández give scenic life to the figure of Mercedes Pinto, showing great versatility and unfolding into other characters who intervene occasionally. Because it happens that author and character, work and life, travel and stay, form couples that cross and feed each other through various genres, seeking the amazement and complicity of the spectator. Along with the two actresses, the pianist Conchi Reyes sets the phases of the development of the piece.
The costumes have been designed by Mauricio Sicilia, the lighting and sound are by Daniel Badal, the graphic design is by Mote and the choreography is by Juan Manzano. The texts of the articles by Mercedes Pinto have been adapted by Paco Monge and the turbo team of the company, who makes a special thanks to the researcher and writer Alicia Llarena and the family of Mercedes Pinto.
