The Ministry of Environment, and Rural and Marine Affairs, through the Autonomous National Parks Agency, has published the book "Marine communities and fauna populations of the coast of Timanfaya National Park". A manual written by Manuel Carrillo Pérez and Tomás Cruz Simó, which offers a study of the marine communities and fauna populations of the Timanfaya National Park, the only one in the Canary Islands with a coastal front.

For the analysis of populations and communities, statistical tools have been used

that have allowed extracting information about the communities and the environment where they develop

In the study, 361 species have been identified, of which 103 are

flora and 258 of marine fauna. Of these, 193 are invertebrates and 65 belong to the chordate group (fish). Taxonomic updates have been made of 321 species and 71 species of invertebrates and 6 of chordates not previously cited for this coastline have been recorded.

In relation to marine vegetation, 3 species of algae were identified for the first time for the island of Lanzarote.

The publication also includes a series of photographs, graphics and topographic maps of interest on the subject, as well as an inventory of marine fauna species of the National Park.

The book can be purchased through the publications department of the Autonomous National Parks Agency, at the email address
