The island director of the General State Administration in Lanzarote, María Dolores Luzardo, inaugurated this Tuesday a training action on "The psychological aspects and communication strategies in the care of women victims of gender violence", aimed at the Security Forces.

In the presentation of this training action, organized by the Unit against violence against women of the Island Directorate, in collaboration with the Center for Equality and care for women of the Cabildo, Luzardo valued the importance of promoting the training and specialization of professionals who attend to this phenomenon, with the aim of providing adequate care to victims and improving efficiency in prevention, early detection and assistance.

This training action will be taught in two sessions by the psychologist Encarna García, expert in gender violence and who develops her professional work in the Center for Equality and care for women (C.I.A.M), dependent on the Cabildo of Lanzarote.

In the first session, held this Tuesday, the psychological aspects of gender violence were discussed. In the second session, scheduled for April 12, communication strategies in the care of women victims of gender violence will be addressed.

During her speech, María Dolores Luzardo highlighted the work of attention and monitoring carried out by the specialized police units in this matter, as well as the importance of institutional cooperation and coordination as a guarantee of efficiency.

The island director pointed out that "the magnitude and complexity of gender violence needs the whole society so that we can end this problem, against which we must continue to advance." "It is important that there are spaces of these characteristics that serve to exchange opinions and share experiences about the characteristics of gender violence. This will help us to better understand the problem, to understand the behavior of the victims and to look for the most suitable way to address it," she said.
