Since last Saturday, the ground floor of the Deiland Shopping Center in Playa Honda hosts the "III Exhibition of the Concert En Vela Photographic Contest". The event was attended by an important presence of public, among whom were also some of the photographers who had competed. In addition, public officials such as Joel Delgado, Senator for Lanzarote and several councilors from the Arrecife city council also approached.
The inauguration began with welcome words by the manager of the Deiland Shopping Center, Tanausú Fontes, who was "very satisfied to give the facilities for a cultural event of such depth as the one that is inaugurated today," he said. For his part, the manager of the Classical Orchestra of Lanzarote, Roberto Fuentes, stated that he was "very grateful for the response of the photographers and the great quality of their works", he also had words of thanks for the institutions, media, commercial houses and all the volunteers, "since without their collaborations these projects would not go ahead," he said. Rafael Juan González, Councilor for Tourism and Culture of the Arrecife City Council, expressed that he was "pleasantly surprised by the works exhibited there, which he valued very positively", acquiring the commitment to continue collaborating in cultural projects at such a high level and which make "Arrecife a capital where culture is available to residents and how many visit us".
Immediately afterwards, the minutes of the jury were read, announcing the names of the winners. The first prize, valued at 300 euros and a plaque, went to Pedro Pérez for the photo entitled "Entre Velas". Rafael Juan González and Tanausú Fontes presented the award. The second, valued at 150 euros and a plaque, went to Renata Ribeiro for the photo entitled "The sea, man and music". Vicky Sande, councilor of the Arrecife city council and Tanausú Fontes presented the award. And the third, valued at 50 euros and a plaque, went to Miriam Hernández for the photo entitled "The Intricacies of Destiny". The member of the OCL, Piedad del Río and Tanausú Fontes presented it. The Instagram Prize was also awarded to the photo sent by Josefa López, winner of a dinner for two at a restaurant in Charco de San Ginés.
A special moment was when the Classical Orchestra of Lanzarote presented a plaque to our colleague, Sergio Betancort, Fuentes pointed out that it was a deserved distinction "for the follow-up he has been doing to the concerts and exhibitions carried out" The plaque was presented by the manager of the Orchestra, Roberto Fuentes.
The exhibition will remain in the Shopping Center until August 15 and features 25 photographs as well as 10 quick painting drawings made by the painter Barbara Müller, whose curator is Jeziel Martín .
