Different units of the Guardia Civil have visited the César Manrique school in Tahíche, within the conferences held by the State Security Forces within the ‘Director Plan for the Improvement of Coexistence and Security’ of the Ministry of the Interior. Thus, according to the Benemérita, they are "exhibitions and talks for the improvement of coexistence and school safety, which are not only limited to conferences in the educational community for parents and students, but also" serve to "bring the work of the Guardia Civil closer to the school community", explaining the functions they perform.

Different units of the Guardia Civil attended the Tahíche school, such as the cynological service, which is the guide and training of dogs; TEDEX, which are in charge of deactivating explosives; Seprona, specialized in the protection of nature; the traffic detachment of Lanzarote; and elements of citizen security, that is, the generic Guardia Civil. They explained to the little ones their functions in their different fields of action.

Instruction six of the Director Plan indicates as a preventive measure for the improvement of coexistence and security "the realization of conferences and activities in schools aimed at students". Thus, it foresees the realization of talks, visits and activities in schools, aimed at minors and young people" to provide them with "general information on the main security problems that affect them as a group". Likewise, these talks aim to "raise awareness and guide students about those behaviors that may lead to criminal or violent actions, promoting the values of responsibility, equality, respect and coexistence; provide them with tools for conflict prevention; or improve their knowledge and trust in relation to the functioning of the Security Forces", among other issues.
