The fixed blood donation point located in the Deiland Shopping Center in Lanzarote celebrates its second anniversary this Monday. This has been announced by the Canary Institute of Hemodonation and Hemotherapy (ICHH), which depends on the Ministry of Health.
Throughout these two years, the extraction room located in local 056 of the cafeteria area of this commercial establishment, which is located at Calle Chímidas, number 20, in San Bartolomé, has registered 2,334 offers for donation, a figure that has translated into 2,132 effective donations. In addition, 168 outings have been launched and the average donation per outing has been 12.7 bags of blood.
Regarding the profile of the donors, 750 were men and 786 were women. By age group, 468 were young donors between 18 and 33 years old, 698 were adult donors between 34 and 49 years old, and 370 veteran donors between 50 and 65 years old were counted. Regarding the level of recruitment, that is, donors who donate blood for the first time, 176 new donors have joined in this time.

To donate blood, you can go directly or request an appointment by calling 012 or 928 301 012 (option 8), from Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. or by completing the form published on the web homepage.

The ICHH also reminds that people vaccinated against covid-19, both with one and two doses and the booster dose, can donate blood 48 hours after inoculation.
