At 7:30 p.m. and presided over by Juan Carlos Medina, parish priest of San Ginés, the celebration of the Eucharist began with a sober and solemn atmosphere, with the three naves of the temple completely full.

The readings of this day are very special, the first from the book of Exodus in which the prescriptions of the Passover Meal are collected, the second reading is from the first letter of the apostle Saint Paul to the Corinthians (Every time you eat this bread and drink this wine, you proclaim the death of the Lord). The songs were also directed by Professor Josefina González.

Once Communion has been distributed and as is customary on this day, the Blessed Sacrament is transferred from the altar where the Eucharist has been celebrated in procession through the interior of the church to the so-called "Altar of Reservation" or "Monument", ending the celebration of the Holy Offices since the priest does not impart the blessing as in other celebrations.

During the night, the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is maintained in the "Monument", celebrating the so-called "Holy Hour", around midnight, with the Blessed Sacrament remaining there until the celebration of Good Friday.

Holy Thursday for Catholics is one of the most important days of Holy Week, as it begins the Paschal Triduum, which means the period in which the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus is commemorated. On that day some of the most important events that are recorded in the Bible occurred, such as the Last Supper, which was the constitution of the Eucharist, the Priesthood, the Washing of the Feet performed by Jesus to the Apostles and also declared as the Day of Brotherly Love.
