The Department of Energy of the Cabildo of Lanzarote has put out to tender the works to define the conditions for installing a photovoltaic plant for self-consumption that will be connected to the grid on the roof of the CEIP Guiguan in Tinajo

The works have a budget of 46,513.47 euros, financed by the Government of the Canary Islands through a grant nominated to the Cabildo from the 2021 Budgets and which includes in the project 'Energy efficiency, renewable energies and promotion of the electric vehicle' a total allocation of more than 570,000 euros. The work will have an execution period of two months.

“With the implementation of these two new photovoltaic plants, the aim is to achieve significant economic savings, in addition to helping to reduce polluting gases into the atmosphere,” said the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo.

This project "is in line with the Cabildo's objective of promoting self-consumption and the sustainable development model", the Cabildo defended in a press release.
