Thirty years after the Ministry of Tourism acquired the Soviet and Russian missiles to erect a Monument to Peace in Lanzarote, the Teguise City Council has decided to show both artifacts to the public, taking advantage of the fact that from this Thursday until next Sunday, May 8, the I Agrotechnological and Livestock Days will be held in those facilities.

The missiles, which were acquired to make the museum according to an idea by the artist César Manrique and the Tenerife writer Alberto Vázquez Figueroa, have been stored in a warehouse at the Teguise Agrotechnological Center since 1992, the year of their acquisition after the end of the Cold War. At that time, the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of the Canary Islands was led by Miguel Zerolo, while the president of the Cabildo was Dimas Martín.

The Federation of Agricultural and Fisheries Associations Castillo de Teguise (FASAT) organizes this event of the primary sector to "boost its economy and give it more visibility", in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture of the Teguise City Council and Cajasiete.

The TEDAX of the Civil Guard verified this past Tuesday that the artifacts have no explosive charge, after being requested by the Teguise City Council to verify the situation of the missiles.
