More than 300 guests attended the official opening of the new Secrets Lanzarote Resort & Spa tonight, the second hotel of the Secrets ® Resorts & Spas brand in Europe. An event organized by AMResorts ®, the leading hotel brand manager of the American group Apple Leisure Group ® (ALG), and Hesperia World, manager of Grupo Hesperia, one of the main hotel groups in Spain.
Tamara Falcó has been the godmother of honor of the hotel's opening party, which has just been renovated and offers 335 rooms and suites with views of the gardens, mountains or the sea; a unique hospitality concept, a renovated dining offer -6 restaurants and 6 bars-, several swimming pools, a complete gym and a large spa, among other facilities and amenities.
The designer has enjoyed the magnificent hotel facilities and commented: "I am delighted to inaugurate the new Secrets Lanzarote hotel, a haven of peace with wonderful views of the ocean. I have thoroughly enjoyed its great variety of international cuisine, its sunsets in the pool and its spa and treatments. After a few intense months, it has been the perfect occasion to relax in an unparalleled setting. I really enjoy traveling, and Lanzarote is a unique island and the ideal destination for a few days of rest."
The party, which has served as a coming-out party for this five-star establishment, "adults only" and located in the tourist center of Puerto Calero, was attended by Ciprián Rivas, General Director of Tourism Planning and Promotion of the Canary Islands; Ángel Vázquez, Minister of Tourism of the Cabildo de Lanzarote; and Óscar Manuel Noda, mayor of the municipality of Yaiza. In addition, a large representation of Lanzarote and Canary Islands civil society attended. Everyone was able to enjoy the party and the concert by Pitingo, which put the finishing touch to a magical night.
Hesperia World, which maintains ownership and operational management of the asset, has invested 10 million euros in a comprehensive renovation of the hotel to adapt it to the quality standards of the Secrets brand with a marked Canarian character, with allusions to its artistic legacy, culture and mythology.
Javier Coll, Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of Apple Leisure Group, responsible for the group's strategy, global hotel development, and who also leads the business in Europe from the corporate office, stated that "the opening of Secrets Lanzarote is a further step in our ambitious plan to expand the group in Europe, a geography where we want to consolidate ourselves through our different brands and position ourselves as the trusted partner of the owners".
For Javier Águila, President for Europe of ALG, "the opening of the second Secrets in Europe is a key milestone for the company's business plans and a sign of the firm commitment we have with the Canary Islands, a consolidated tourist destination that meets all the characteristics to successfully import our 'Unlimited Luxury', the concept of all-inclusive luxury from the Caribbean to Europe".
Jordi Ferrer, CEO of Hesperia World, highlighted that the inauguration of the Secrets Lanzarote Resort & Spa "means, on the one hand, consolidating our alliance with ALG, of which we are very proud, and, on the other hand, it also confirms our strategy of being a hotel company with different brands and of always looking for the best route for each asset".
For his part, Gonzalo Alcaraz, director of the vacation area of Hesperia World, pointed out that "the new Secrets Lanzarote Resort & Spa reinforces our vacation portfolio and we are convinced that it will consolidate as a clear benchmark for the highest quality tourism on the island and the Canary archipelago as a whole".
With the Secrets Lanzarote Resorts & Spa, which opened its doors on December 9, 2019, there are already 18 hotels spread throughout Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Costa Rica, St. Martin and Spain of the Secrets Resorts & Spa brand.
