Saúl Coco from Lanzarote: "I know that many will be hurt by my decision, but it is the best for me"

The new Torino FC player Saúl Coco said goodbye this Wednesday to the fans of UD Las Palmas, a team where he has played since he was 13 years old, with a letter in which he defends that his transfer to Italian football "is not only the best for him, but also for the Gran Canaria club."

"I know that many of you will be hurt by this decision. I understand, but I have made it because, at this point, I believe it was the best for me and, in my opinion, also for the club," he says in his letter, published on his X social network profile.

Born in Lanzarote in 1999, Coco emphasizes that he "has no words to thank the fans of UD Las Palmas" for "all the affection and unconditional support" he has received "in good times and bad."

"Never change your way of feeling this wonderful madness," he says to the yellow fans, "because you are undoubtedly the greatest treasure and guarantee for this club. I, as one more, will continue to support and defend UD wherever I am."

Saúl Coco emphasizes that leaving UD Las Palmas is one of the "most difficult" decisions he has made in his life, because this club welcomed him when he was just "a kid from Lanzarote with the dream of being a footballer."

"I leave with a clear conscience and my head held high, knowing that I have always given everything to defend you as you deserve," adds the player, addressing the fans of Unión Deportiva.

Neither Las Palmas nor Torino have made public the amount that the Italian club has paid as a transfer fee for Saúl Coco.
