The first deputy mayor of San Bartolomé, David Rocío, and the councilor for Equality, Isabel Sosa, presented this Friday morning, in the courtyard of the Municipal Theater, the agenda of events to commemorate International Women's Day (March 8). The proposal focuses on this occasion on events that promote spaces for coexistence through cultural and musical leisure and outdoor activities, sharing spaces, experiences and forging bonds of union.
On Saturday, March 10, there will be a 'Meeting for Equality' at 5:00 p.m., with a bus leaving from Playa Honda and San Bartolomé to the Jardín de Teguise, where participants will enjoy a musical afternoon and a snack. To participate, you must register in advance by calling 928 521 200 or at Casa Cerdeña.
On Saturday, March 17, Patricia Muñoz will perform, arriving at the Teatro de San Bartolomé with her show 'Con M de Mujer'. It will be at 8:30 p.m., with free admission and limited capacity. This concert, offered by one of the most important voices on the music scene in the Canary Islands, will take you on a journey through the best songs in history sung by women.
On Saturday, March 24, the activity 'Kilometers for Equality' will take place, in which hiking through the surroundings of Punta Mujeres will bring you into contact with nature, sharing a day of leisure. The activity is free, with prior registration by calling 690 053 282, and there will be a bus leaving from San Bartolomé at 5:00 p.m.
Also in the municipality, an activity of the Junt@s Somos Biosfera volunteer program will be carried out, an action called 'Painting for Gender Equality', in collaboration with the Municipal Service 'Buchito de Café' and non-profit organizations that work in defense of women's rights and equality. It will take place on Tuesday, March 6 at the Playa Honda Civic Center, between 5:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
"These specific events on significant and vindictive dates such as March 8, are added to the work we do throughout the year in terms of equality and prevention of gender violence through the program 'Enróllate en Clase', with the secondary education institutes San Bartolomé and Playa Honda", highlighted the Councilor for Equality, Isabel Sosa, in her speech.
