San Bartolomé congratulates Rafaela Martín Armas on her hundredth birthday

Armas is the niece of Eugenia María Armas Martín, a resident of the municipality who died at the age of 104 and who gives her name to the San Bartolomé Senior Citizens Association.

The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, the councilor for the Elderly, Alma María González, and the councilor for Social Services, María Dolores Fernández, visited the home of the municipality's native resident, Rafaela Martín Armas, who is celebrating her 100th birthday, on Tuesday morning.

On her hundredth birthday, the City Council wants to recognize this resident for her life's journey. "We could not overlook this special date for one of our residents, and we extend our sincerest congratulations from the City Council," says the mayor.

Rafaela Martín Armas was a young woman who emigrated to Guinea with her husband, Calisto Salvador Quevedo Medina, and returned to Lanzarote in 1992. Armas is the niece of Eugenia María Armas Martín, a resident of the municipality who died at the age of 104 and who gives her name to the San Bartolomé Senior Citizens Association.

The San Bartolomé City Council joins the entire community in wishing her a happy birthday. We celebrate this day with her and hope that she continues to be an important part of our municipality in the years to come.
