On October 14, 2017, Sabine Hütter, better known as the red-haired photographer, received the 2017 European Contemporary Photography Award in the "reportage photography" category, an award that recognizes excellence in the documentary photography genre and the ability to capture a moment or event in a narrative way.
Sabine has excelled at telling complex stories using only a few images, an art she has developed with passion in sports and social issues. Unlike traditional photography styles, photojournalism portrays the protagonists without any pose, in an unscripted reality. The most interesting thing about this photographic style is the non-intervention of the photographer in the action, as his presence becomes that of another spectator, with the differential of possessing an eye sufficiently trained in the details.

Sabine Hütter specialized in narrating with photographs the chronicle of cultural, social and sporting events. In addition to the pure testimony of the facts, her ability to transmit to the viewer the atmosphere surrounding the events is what makes her a prodigious reporter; she even manages to reflect the moods of her protagonists.
In 2001 she made her first coverage in international events and reported for important companies such as BMW and Red Bull; then she would have the opportunity to work for several magazines and agencies. Currently she manages a more intimate, spontaneous and authentic approach focused on people, called "People", showing the small and valuable moments behind the "big images".
SABINE, the 43-year-old artist was born in Styria, Austria, but since 2008 she has settled on the volcanic island of Lanzarote, Canary Islands. There she developed her now famous art of telling intimate stories through wedding photography, social events, fashion portraits and sporting events, among other events in the region.
The winning photo, taken by Sabine, is impressive thanks to a majestic interpretation of the theme "Generations in Dialogue". The awards ceremony took place at the EIB (European Investment Bank) in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.
