Maritime Rescue has intercepted a new boat northeast of Lanzarote, according to the Emergency Consortium.
53 people were traveling in the boat, 7 women and two minors among them, all of sub-Saharan origin. The occupants of the pneumatic boat have been transferred to the Commercial Dock where they have been treated by the Red Cross on land. They were in good health and no evacuation to the Molina Orosa Hospital was necessary.
This is the fifth boat that has arrived on the island in the last 24 hours.
The pneumatic-type boat has been spotted by SASEMAR and alerts Maritime Rescue of Las Palmas, which mobilizes the Guardamar Polimnia.
