Óscar González from Lanzarote won the high heel race of the Gay Pride in Madrid last Thursday, June 30. Standing on huge platforms, nearly 15 participants walked one more year through the emblematic Pelayo street, in the classic High Heel Race of Chueca. Keeping the balance was not easy for Óscar, winner of the race, but he managed and won a prize of 300 euros
As Óscar explains to La Voz, "it is the second time that I participate, last year I was second and I had such a good time that now I want to repeat every year because of the good vibes in the race". Óscar lives in Madrid, where he studies and works, "and now I run in high heel races ha ha", he says with great humor.
"Participating in the race is a way to claim equality or freedom for everyone, people of different sexual tastes, this year there was a heterosexual, a lesbian and homosexuals, with the race the Pride is brought closer to everyone", explains Óscar González.
