The great participation continues to be the keynote of the Puerto del Carmen festivities, which on Wednesday night featured performances by the Lanzarote pop-rock bands Medio Almud and Oscartienealas. Also, the little ones were able to enjoy a children's show the day before.

This Thursday, the residents of Puerto del Carmen were able to enjoy the theater, by the group "Mujercitas y uno más", with the play "Recitando se va a Roma", which was followed by a great party in the Plaza de El Varadero.

All those people who are fond of good Canarian cuisine will be able to enjoy, at 8:00 p.m. this Friday, the tasting of a tasty sancocho in which the main role will be played by the exquisite salted fish, accompanied by some good sweet potatoes, mojo picón and potatoes from the land.

Next, the "United by Dance" contest will be held, which is scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m., and will be followed by a grand popular festival. Before, at 6:00 p.m., the elderly will be able to enjoy a Third Age dance in the assembly hall of the El Fondeadero civic center.

The Carmen festivities will experience one of their most anticipated moments this weekend, with the maritime procession, which will be held this Saturday, at 6:00 p.m., and will be accompanied by the Los Buches band.

The following day, at 7:00 p.m., the mass sung by the Marina de Puerto del Carmen Choir will be held, which will be followed by the land procession accompanied by the Tías Municipal Band, and the performance of the Güerma folk group.

Among the events of this last weekend of the festivities to be held in the Plaza de El Varadero, the Folklore Meeting at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday stands out, followed by a popular festival; as well as the Sonajero Festival at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday and the XI Festival of Town Artists, followed by a dance and the fireworks display, scheduled for 11:30 p.m.

Sports activities

The festivities have also been full of sports activities such as the IX Domingo Robayna Indoor Football Memorial, in which Tahíche prevailed; the youth football triangular, which had UD Lanzarote as the winner; the I Inter-Island Archery Championship, women's and youth indoor football, diving, the aerobics exhibition or the Ccnejero stick game classes.

For this weekend, the paddle and tennis tournaments at the Match Point Tennis Club, the beach volleyball tournament and the swim across from Playa Grande to Playa Chica are also scheduled, with departure at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.
