Coinciding with the European Mobility Week and the International Car-Free Day on September 22, the Arrecife City Council has approved that citizens who use urban transport in Arrecife do not have to pay the usual fare.

This measure will expire on Friday, when the new payment system on board the buses will resume, which can be done through vouchers or with the amount in cash.

The European Mobility Week takes place every year between September 16 and 22, and aims to promote sustainable mobility and encourage the development of good practices and permanent measures.

“The City Council joins this initiative once again this year, which encourages the use of Urban Transport in the capital”, says Ángela Hernández, Councilor for Mobility. In addition, she positively values that “more and more people are moving by bus in Arrecife”
