Manuel Concepción presented his first book, "Poems of Love and Life", this Tuesday in an event that took place in the halls of the Arrecife Gran Hotel. Many friends and professional colleagues of the author, who has managed several hotels on the island, attended the presentation, in which Professor Manuel Martín Arroyo Flores read some of the poems, and Mario Alberto Perdomo was in charge of making an introduction.
Political representatives also attended the event, such as the mayor of Arrecife, Cándido Reguera, who is a personal friend of Manuel Concepción and wanted to congratulate him "for this new journey".
For his part, Concepción explained that 'Poems of Love and Life' is a
compilation of poems made over many years, reviewed and compiled as a result of a long convalescence, and that see the light of day by the hand of the Editorial Círculo Rojo.
The book is already on sale, from this Wednesday, in the El Puente, Lanzarote and Bulevar Spínola bookstores, in Arrecife, as well as in the Libertad de Tías bookstore.
From tourism to literature
Manuel Concepción Pérez was born in Barlovento (La Palma) in 1953. He studied Tourism and has developed his professional career in this sector in various islands of the Canary Islands. He has been director of several lodging establishments on the island of Lanzarote, where he settled at the end of the 80s. Currently, he is the general director of IPV Hoteles, a company that, among others, manages the Hotel Beatriz de Costa Teguise.
He is also a director of the hotel employers' association Asolan and vice president of the Order of the Canarian Puppy in Lanzarote.
