More than a hundred people, including members of different groups and citizens of Lanzarote, met this Thursday at the Casa del Miedo to prepare for the Global Climate Strike, which will take place on September 27.
Among the associations that attended the meeting, convened by the Pueblo Maho and Youth for Climate Lanzarote, were also SEO Birdlife, World March for Peace and Nonviolence, Canary Islands Free of Plastics, Mararía, Feminist Platform 8M, Platform 15M and members of the vegan movement.
Also attending were representatives of political parties such as Lanzarote en Pie-Sí Podemos, Equo and IU, as well as personalities such as the dean of the College of Architects of Lanzarote, Miguel Ángel Fontes, the new Climate Change advisor of the Cabildo, Ezequiel Navío, and the activist Pedro Hernández.
At the meeting, working groups and distribution lists were established so that the platform created for the strike can begin to work, from which the activities to be carried out will be announced soon. In addition to the strike on September 27, activities are also planned for the 20th.
