Lanzarote recorded gusts of wind exceeding 70 kilometers per hour in recent days, according to the State Meteorological Agency, which has already deactivated the yellow warning that affected the island.

Specifically, it was in the airport area where the highest gusts of wind were recorded, up to 72 kilometers per hour on Sunday and 67 on Monday. However, the values were also high in other parts of the island. In Tías, for example, gusts of 66 kilometers per hour were recorded and in Tinajo of 63.

In the municipality of Haría, the gusts reached 60 kilometers per hour, while in Yaiza they reached 59. Finally, according to Aemet, the least windy municipality was Teguise, where the highest gusts were 55 kilometers per hour. Regarding the average wind speed, it ranged between 37 kilometers per hour recorded in Haría and Yaiza and 54 reached in the airport area.

For this Tuesday, although Aemet has already deactivated the yellow warning for winds, it does not rule out, however, that gusts may be recorded again that reach 70 kilometers per hour, a prediction that is repeated for Wednesday. The wind will be from the north to northeast, with strong intervals in the interior and on the south coast of the island. The skies will be slightly cloudy or clear and the temperatures will range between a minimum of 21 degrees and a maximum of 28.
