The creations of five local designers, María Cao, MargaMod, Oswaldo Machín, Azu Vilas and Mosego, were the stars of the magnificent fashion show that was held on Friday night at the International Museum of Contemporary Art MIAC-Castillo de San José, within the framework of the second edition of Lanzarote Fashion Weekend.
In front of numerous specialized press, stylists, influencers, models and dressmakers, as well as other professionals from the sector, the designers presented their new and inspiring collections in an event that had an exceptional godmother, Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada, one of the Spanish designers with the greatest international projection. The renowned stylist Pelayo Díaz and the actress and model, Hiba Abouk, among others, also attended this event.
During the fashion show, the attending public was able to enjoy the proposals presented by the designer María Cao, with a handmade collection where she combines vegetable dyes with watercolors, an unusual patchwork, which integrates perfectly, with hemp, linen, vegetable threads, silks, and cool Wool. All this in symbiosis, with neoprenes, die-cuts, nappa and before. Garments for men and women that seduce and enchant, but with an original and different touch.
For her part, the designer Marga Mod presented her latest collection that revolves around respect for the environment and the art of dressing. Her garments, taking as an artistic resource pieces of leftover fabrics, are reborn, taking on a new life. Her creations are intended for a woman who is aware of the delicate moment our planet is experiencing and who values the beauty of the artistic over the industrial and ephemeral. These are unique pieces like delicate art objects.
The 'Luxury Night' collection, with wedding and party dresses by Oswaldo Machín could also be seen on the catwalk. This is a new line inspired by the feminine silhouette where the new garments play to enhance and embellish it thanks to pure and minimalist lines. The fabrics that this new collection has give it the touch of luxury due to the quality of the same, such as embroidered chantilly laces, 3D embroidered tulles, natural silk gauzes and organzas and gazares.
Under the title "Salitre al Viento", in homage to the Lanzarote artist Cesar Manrique, the collection presented by Azu Vilas stands out for the use of sequins, simulating the scales of the fish from Manrique's "Atlantic Fauna" collection. Her garments provide a touch of sophistication and shine without overdoing it, being an integrated element and not the center of attention of the rest of the pieces in the collection.
Finally, Mónica Senantes (Mosego) showed her "Magnetism" collection of handmade fashion jewelry, which stands out for its originality, the richness of its materials and the harmony with which it blends colors and textures. This is a small preview of the collection that will be presented and marketed in 2020.
