The murga Los Simplones wanted to "maintain the illusion" of Carnival and has launched, through social networks, a video with the song "chronicle of a performance that will not be held", in which they simulate that they are in the Arrecife murga contest, which would have been held this week if it were not for the Covid pandemic.

"We wanted to do something new, moving people to the Fairgrounds", explained the director of the murga, Enrique Martín. In fact, the video begins with an image of who for years has been the official presenter of the murga contest, Francisco José Navarro, presenting the performance.

After that, with the fantasy "Confined Clown", the members of the murga Los Simplones sing the song, with images recorded by each one from their home.

"We have been releasing videos with unpublished songs these months", said the director of the murga, who pointed out that in March and April of last year, in full confinement, they already released several recordings, and that they also collaborated with the Molina Orosa Hospital on Hand Hygiene Day.

Among others, the murga also made a song to the Virgen del Carmen on the day of her festivity, although on that occasion the members of the group were able to get together to record it. Now, although the restrictions due to Covid prevent them from meeting to rehearse, Los Simplones wanted to virtually celebrate their Carnival.

Thus they have decided to launch this "chronicle of a performance that will not be held" and do not rule out making a song to participate in the Virtual Murga Contest of Teguise.
