The island of La Graciosa exceeded 37 degrees this Monday during the episode of extreme heat that is hitting the Canary Islands. Specifically, at 4:00 p.m. on October 9, it reached 37.3 degrees.
The eighth island recorded higher temperatures than Lanzarote, where the maximum was recorded in San Bartolomé, above 35 degrees. Thus, La Graciosa suffered at the beginning of the week one of the highest temperatures in the Archipelago, only surpassed by two municipalities in the south of Tenerife and two in the interior of Gran Canaria.
For the moment and, at least until next Monday, the forecast does not expect a cessation of high temperatures. The maximums expected between Wednesday and Sunday are around 33 degrees. While the minimums, according to the same prediction, are above 20.
As of this Wednesday, the State Meteorological Agency has eliminated the yellow warnings for high temperatures in Lanzarote.
